  • stanyy: SP 2.3.5 is not available in the downloads section?? The big download link on the homepage points newcomers to the downloads section who then download 2.3.4. Not good.

Almost Final!
« on: November 22, 2011, 01:00:12 PM »
Hello everyone,

It has been ~9 days since we released SimplePortal 2.3.4 RC1 version to the public. During this "a little more than a week" time, what we have seen was a "real" release candidate (with having only a few bugs), except for being unusually popular.

The SimplePortal 2.3.4 RC1 package was downloaded ~400 times from our downloads area and ~300 times from the simplemachines.org Mod Site. Despite an error at simplemachines.org Mod Site that made the package invisible for a few days, SimplePortal climbed up the Top Most Popular Mods list rapidly and reached the 2nd place. It's still in the 2nd place as I'm writing this post and it was no different in the past several days too.

More downloads means, more testing and more testing means a more stable package. Keep testing and expect SimplePortal 2.3.4 final version very soon! ;)

Congrats to you Sinan and the development team.  I'm one of the downloaders.  :P I recently converted from SMF 1.1.5/Mambo 4.6 to SMF 2.01 and SP 2.3.4 RC1 and we are very pleased.  It is a very nice portal!
