I think this is a problem with the install of Simple Portal.
It assumed you would use general collation on your tables.

If you must use polish collation on your forum, then you must alter the simple portal tables so the tables, and all the columns, use polish collation.

Do you know how to do this?

I will bring this problem up, and see if there is a way that future versions can find out the collation used, and use that collation.

Congratulations!  I am glad you figured out how to fix the collation on the SimplePortal tables.

That is is funny problem.  I have brought it to the attention of our founder. I do not know what kind of fix would be possible in future versions, but I do know that it would be possible to manually change the collation in the install.php file to match your SMF installation.
