hi all
excuse my ignorance, forums are new to me ,  so I ask this question with sincerity . Can simple portal create pages similar to  idesign 360. Just love the clean look . Suppose that gives my age away. Basically need to create a nice home page and some article pages and obviously the forum, maybe if possible with drop down menu as in idesign and smf packs.
any assistance will be appreciated

I do not know how idesign makes pages (seems only for registered or paid  access) but Simple Portal is ... simple.
You also have a choice of html or bbcode, easy to insert blocks and use custom access permission.
All you have to do is set the page ID (end of url).
I would try it and compare:
Admin menu>Simple Portal> Page> Add Page.

For menus I recommend SMF mod - Menue Editor Lite:

Just put in the Simple Portal page url.

The next version of Simple Portal might have its own menu editor but the SMF one is good.
