Where is the GENERAL SETTINGS tab?
« on: April 19, 2014, 08:55:44 AM »
Yes this is not a smart question.
http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=docs;area=general_settings
According to this I should go into the general settings tab, but I can't even find the configuration.
Soo where is it ;-;?

should be listed as this (without any other mods)
    Main
    Configuration
    Forum
    SimplePortal
    Members
    Maintenance

If it is not, then its possible that you don't have SP installed
or it did not do those edits (for whatever reason)
if you have a custom theme, you may need to manually install

link to site, SMF version, etc etc
the more info you give us, the more support we can provide

See the screenshot - after you click the admin menu link.

You can see Simple Portal there. If you dont, probably not installed correctly.

It seems that the installation failed.  This happens sometimes, invisibly.  Package Manager THINKS that it succeeded, when it actually failed to install the package.

Quite often, when this happens, it is a CHMOD problem.

Please read through http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=docs;area=solving_install_problems
I hope this information will help you solve your install problem.

You may need to uninstall the mod, fix the CHMOD problems, and then re-install.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?

Also you can try removing the program either uninstall or delete.
( I say uninstall because it can say it was when it was not).
Try downloading another copy and then try it again, couple question I have
are is this being done on a modded theme  ?
Also at install look to see if anything shows up in red before you push the install link.

USFA has a good point -- if you are using a custom theme that does not use the menu from subs.php, Simple could be simply not visible on the menu.

You can test this by trying the url
index.php?action=admin;area=portalconfig

If you wind up at the administration center rather than on the simpleportal admin page, then you know simpleportal is not all there!
