Hello SP team,

My first post here and all I can say is you've done a great job (I love SP!)... I have a simple question and I'm not really sure where this would fall, so please feel free to move it to where this might belong...

Basically, I'm trying to hide my "News" forum from my board to anyone but the admin and mods but all members should be able to view each post from that forum on the SP homepage... They should be able to read the posts in full view when they clicked on "Read More" and everyone should be able to reply to it... It is just that they won't be able to see the "News" forum from board view...

I was able to hide news posts from SP homepage (through permissions) and members can see the "News" forum at the board but not the other way around...

Is this possible? Thanks! :D

Hello RedRobin and welcome to Simple Portal.
Please have a look over at the simplemachines.org website, in customizations, for mods that can hide a board from the board index.  Typically, this is done in blog modifications.  A blog modification might be exactly what you want -- I don't know for sure, but I bet you can find out through a little trial and error.

Good luck.

Since this is a request for support using Simple Portal, rather than a comment on this site, I have moved this topic to the support board.
Please to keep this website running, if you like SimplePortal, make a

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?

Hi, thanks for the response... I actually figured it out but there was a sudden change of plans as I found out how to use Articles in SP 2.3.5 and I really got excited about it to the point that I totally scrapped out my original plan of hiding news forums...

Already marked the item as resolved...

I do have a small question though with regards to articles as I'm not bit of a PHP coder and I'm just finding my way out, how can I move the category icon so when members read the article at the home page, the category icon is on the left side and not on the right?

Thanks! ;)
