Topic: Issues with icon can not change due to theme

Just wanting to know if it is possible to change my icons.
Due to my custom theme i can not use some of the mods in SMF and i am wondering can this be done in simple portal.

I don't get half a word of what you mean... The title seems to be related to some icon problems but then you talk about some mods and you don't specify ANYTHING of what you have nor what you would like to achieve... How could we possibly help you if you don't tell us what's in your mind?

Just want to know if these icons, gif files can be changed in SimplePortal to other images

Any icons can be changed. You just need to get the ones you want, make sure they are named the same, and upload them to where the icons in question are located.

That is one way of doing it but say you have 4 topics for example Paint. Garden, Roofing and Bricklaying the only icon i can change with the same name extension would be a picture of a Paint brush.
What about the rest of the remaining images.
Would i still use the Paint brush images for the Roofing, Garden and Bricklaying

Wait, you are now talking about doing custom for certain boards.
That is something that would need to be requested in the Mod Requests board at SMF, since that is not related at all to SP.

However, I'm not sure that can be done, since everything calls up a standard for those post images.

I know i haven't really worded correctly. It was sort of difficult to explain.
I know SimplePortal is able to create boards i just thought i could place an image next to it.

This turned out to be more a feature request rather than a support question indeed it *should* be doable, I don't know how to code it though, honestly.

Simple Portal does not create boards on a forum. That is done via the SMF admin panel, under Boards, not SimplePortal.

What you are asking for, is a re-work of how images show for topics, which would indeed be a mod request for the SMF site.

Ahhh... But, it still remains, that this is one thing that may not be possible, as you'd have to have each image call be set to a post ID, and besides the coding issues in that, it may also end up being a server resource drain.

Unless i can use the Custom Board Icon to change these images
Still i was able to place some pictures in my post as an example.
This feature in simple portal is absolutely fantastic. i love it.
So simple to use. I just thought it was possible to change these small icons but doing such a code is out of my reach.
Hopefully i can get this mod installed soon on my theme to see if these icons can changes.
But i got a feeling as you mentioned its not possible

I apologize that I couldn't get to this earlier but please let me know if there is still anything I can do. I'm not exactly how you want those icons to be changed exactly, so I'll need a little more help fully understanding the issue as well.
