standalone mode
« on: July 02, 2009, 11:47:37 PM »
hello
It seems that my portal doesn't work or more likely its just me.
I'm new to smf and to simple portal just switched from phpbb3 today.
i  installed my forum at www.mydomain.co.uk/forums. and edited my SP Standalone file if by that you meant through the admin panel on the  smf forum.

i entered the full address .

i then turned it to standalone mode.

what page should i be trying to view because when i open spstandalone again its just a blank page.

Download SPStandalone.php to your computer. Open with a text editor like Notepad and change the $forum_dir variable to reflect your server.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

It's recommended to use a programmer's notepad rather than raw Notepad.

Try out Notepad++ or Notepad2 instead.

livewires, just provide a link to your forum board index and the portal page that is not working.
