Forum/Portal Bug
« on: October 23, 2009, 08:11:54 PM »
Hi,
I had to downgrade my site to SP 2.3 because yesterday, after i update to 2.3.1 SP wasn't showing to unregistered/logged out members.
After some testing i realized that it was caused by the option "Allow guests to brwose the forum" which i have turned off and in 2.3 i have no problems, in 2.3.1 when i tun this off it hides the portal and shows the forum if you are logged off (it should be the contrary), when you login everything is okay... I downgraded to 2.3 and it is working fine now...

Can someone help me solve this in 2.3.1?

My site: http://www.ApplePortugal.net
SMF: 1.1.10
SP: 2.3

This is a feature that was added with SimplePortal 2.3.1. The portal usually displays information from the forum, so it normally doesn't make sense to show it to guests.

Changing it back is easy. Find and remove the code below from your sources/Subs-Portal.php file.
Code: [Select]
|| (empty($modSettings['allow_guestAccess']) && $context['user']['is_guest'])

Thanks for the info.. It worked for me too..  :nervous-happy:
Being simple is the most beautiful thing for me because you won't be needing make-ups or accessories just to stand out but rather your own natural way already makes you shine in a crowd. Simplicity is really one of the best things that are free according to a custom essay and it is where your true beauty lies within.

If you can't get the edit to work, then please attach the relevant file to your next post.

It leads to the Portal, but it is empty there where it should be filled with sidebars etc.

I don't really understand what you mean. Could you please post a link to your forum?
