Hi there !

As far as I remember from last SMF release (RC2) the team here is memebr of the team of SMF and can test compatibility before release of the smf. So there should be answer soon I expect ... maybe also a new release which is compatible with RC3 and has some new features  :D

I tested SP 2.3.1 a little on RC3, it seems to work just fine. It's just my opinion at a quick glance, though, I'm sure SP will actually make an official statement about the real situation soon enough. :)

I agree, they should have something shortly. I have tried other portals and none of them compare to the user friendly simplicity of Simple Portal.
Can't wait team!

It couldn't find any action ...

XD I think there will be a new Simple Portal version out soon.

I got it to work....
browse packages, under the uploaded packages click advanced, you will see " Emulate Version" to the right of that you change the SMF 2.0 RC3 to SMF 2.0 RC2, then click apply... and you can then install simple portal.

SimplePortal 2.3.1 works perfectly fine with SMF 2.0 RC3. Just emulate the Package Manager version to SMF 2.0 RC2 and you can install and use it without any issues.

But, now I get this error:
Dutch: Je kunt geen nieuwe pakketten downloaden of installeren omdat de pakkettenmap niet beschrijfbaar is!
English (badly translated): You can download or install any new packages since the pakkettenmap can not be written!

It should be a general installation issue. Please start a topic in Install and Upgrade board.

Unless you try to update anything then it all goes t*ts up.
Why do you think SPs forum is still on RC2?

Lost "Top Posters", i can see preview in admin but it will not show on rc3 forum

Already had SP on RC2 and when I did the update to RC3... it's disabled.  And, I can't uninstall SP using the package manager.  Have to do it manually... just so I can put it back in.  Did the same with like 6 other mods I had.

I usually wait about 6 months before installing their "new" stuff because it's always buggy.  Shame on me for breaking that rule this time.  I'm just glad this is all on a replacement forum I'm building on another host.  If you have even a moderately mofidified site, heed their warning, "Note: As this is in development, we do not recommend running SMF 2.0 RC3 on a production site."

Yup, SMF jumps too fast in saying their releases are compatible.
"So let it be written; so let it be done!"

It works just fine. The reason we didn't update this forum yet, is the custom code we have around SMF. We are working on an update of course. If you are having issues, create a topic in this board.

Didn't you had to use Full Upgrade Package, thus replacing all your files? That wouldn't leave any mods there.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...
