install shout box to a page
« on: April 11, 2010, 08:27:51 AM »
ive added a custom tag to my site and called it chat, ive added a page in the simple portal manager and added a shout box to it.

however when i now click on the chat link the shoutbox appears but is small, any idea how i could make the shoutbox the size of a page so it can become my chat room?

hope this isnt confusing.

i guess this is either posted in the wrong place or no-one knows an answer, basically i can make the shout box as long as i want, the 200 its set at is fine, but its the width which is the problem, when i put a shout box up on the home page and position it as a top or bottom block it is the width i desire,it works there, but when i add a simple portal page and add a shout box and then add it to the custom tag it reverts to a small narrow shout again, i was hoping to use the shout box as a chat room, it is a great addition to the simple portal but is not quite what i want as a page, just wondering really if a member of the team here has an idea.

many thanks.

I guess you added it to a side (left or right). Move it to center top or center bottom and it wold span the area.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

Putting the shoutbox into the Top/Bottom side should fix your issue, just make sure that its at the bottom of the top side or the top of the bottom side, so that it appears in the center.

Marking this as solved.
