Whos online list for pages
« on: June 11, 2010, 12:38:11 PM »
Well its pretty simple, Instead of "Member is viewing forum" in online list, how about we add the page title to the "who.english.php" so we can have the online list for pages too

I think that covers everything.

What do you want in SimplePortal? - Whos online list.
Where exactly should this apply to? - custom pages
Any idea what files we should edit to do this? who.english.php | maybe others

It does not seem to work on mine, It says "Viewing Forum" or "Nothing, or nothing you can see..." while on my "Reviews" Page

In IE using a test user it says Nothing or nothing you can see...

In Firefox using My admin account when someone is viewing the reviews page it says "Viewing Forum".

Grafitus means that all the edits that the installation of SimplePortal normally makes to the Who.php file, have been made correctly for your Who.php file.

I was unable to replicate this error for SMF 2 RC3 and SP 2.3.2, although its possible that its an issue with running SMF 2 RC1.2 and SP 2.3.2, are you still running SMF 2 RC1.2?

Im still running SMF RC1.2, since there are many mods and my theme to catch up to the newest updates, I'm kinda stuck with it for now.

Its probably worth updating, even if it means that you have to change themes, or remove a few mods that are no longer supported. The number of bugfixes between RC1.2 and RC3 is in the hundreds I believe. There were also numerous security fixes. Anyway, that is your decision, just don't expect quick support for a version that is quite old, as supporters and developers are worrying about the issues in the current versions of SMF not issues that have already been fixed.

Anyway (end rant ;D), back to your support request. I was also unable to reproduce this error for SP 2.3.2 and SMF 2 RC1.2. I even tried downloading your Who.php file and using it instead of a clean version, seemed to work fine.

It could be a browser issue, I tried it with Firefox and Opera. Can you check what happens if you view the SimplePortal page with firefox?

Also, when viewing the page, it can take a few page refreshes for the "who" page to 'update' so that it shows the correct page for each person. Try refreshing the page for the user viewing the "who" page and the user viewing the SimplePortal page, to see if that helps at all.

Its just a small issue, not worth re doing the whole forum just to get it working, I can probably add it manually in who.english anyway

I am currently working on updating this old BETA 4 theme myself too, once that's done, I will probably fix the mods myself too

Thanks for trying anyway.

John CcCcCc,

I hope you don't mind that I marked this one as solved -- whois online is not showing pages, probably because you are using SMF 2.0 RC2. The fix is expected to come when you upgrade SMF.  If, at that time, you still have the problem, you can start a new topic to explore any interaction with other mods.
Please to keep this website running, if you like SimplePortal, make a

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?
