  • Eliana Tamerin: That may have faded away now, or gotten better. I hope so. I see a lot of happy phpBB users, so I have to imagine someone is having success.

  • Eliana Tamerin: @andy, the phpBB folks had (at one point, not sure how it is now) a specific set of rules you had to follow to get support. Anyone not found doing so would have their topic ignored.

  • andy: SP team is a breath of fresh air...
    April 24, 2016, 11:24:32 pm
  • andy: Yes they are difficult to deal with at SMF. I never experienced anybody like that at phpbb several years ago.
    April 24, 2016, 11:24:03 pm
  • Maizono: Their team is very antagonistic and I prefer this forum and this staff far more. So kudos to SP for doing it right.

  • andy: When SMF went gold there was a lot of optimism about progress and talk of 3.0.  Five years on and that soulds like SF.
    April 24, 2016, 08:37:31 pm
  • andy: Just my frustration at the slow pace of SMF. I suppose we have an alternative now.
    April 24, 2016, 08:34:38 pm
  • Burke Knight: Andy, as long as the SMF team keeps like they are doing, there's always going to be bugs, mainly due to SMF issues, because the team can't get their stuff straight.

« on: March 13, 2011, 08:17:55 am »
Hello y'all.
Im quite new to this site, so I thought of introducing myself. Dunno if thats necessary but good manners anyway =)
Name's Dirk, called Dirxim for some reason, german, I run "projekt-nw.de" (wich still is -again- in development state) and I really love SP.
Just to give something back, I registered here and will try to support you as good as I can.

If anyone of you is in need of some translations english -> german and back, just fire me a line, I will do that asap.

Thanks for all your work,

Dirxim,

Hello Dirxim!
As you know, we have a German support board which does not get a lot of activity. If you can offer information on topics that you know really well, that will be a help to all of SimplePortal's German-speaking users.
SimplePortal does sometimes need some translation help -- whenever there is a new version, there are usually a few new or changed strings. Just keep an eye out for the announcement, and check in on the International Support board.
If you really like to help with translation, you might also try over at simplemachines.org You can find out if German translation is still needed in preparation for SMF 2 Final. There is always some new translation work coming up at simplemachines.org.
Welcome!
Please to keep this website running, if you like SimplePortal, make a
one-time subscription. Thank you for your support.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?
