Changing a Block's color?
« on: August 29, 2010, 05:32:25 AM »
Hi, just started using Simple Portal today and wondering it. Currently I'm trying to setup a theme for it and I wanted to know how to change the background color of a block. I looked around the tutorials and had no luck. Not sure if it's done through the CSS or inside one of the php files.

Thanks in advance.

There are two things you can do.

First you can go into the index.css and change the background of the windowbg style and that will change the background of all the blocks.

Alternately you can create a new class for the block in the index.css and name it something different (I just used .block1, .block2.. etc.) then go in and edit the block itself and at the bottom you will see the Style Options just enter the name of your new class into the Custom Body Class box and then hit the Edit Block button and you should see your custom background in the block you were editing and there are many more customizations you can do this way by making your own class.
