actually im new to smf and simple portal plz can you let me know how to install simple portal step by step.

Download SimplePortal.

Upload to the Package Manager via Admin > Packages

Click on [install] and then "apply edits"

Done.

i want to install simple portal and also get all the effects and first of all does my smf have to be uploaded in the public_html/forum and on yourdomain.com/forum or just in public_html and be installed on the homepage yourdomain.com?

It doesn't matter where you install SMF, if you want SMF to be at yourdomein.com/forum than creat a map and upload the SMF source files, and install it.
If you want it at yourwebsite.com than you've to upload and install it in the /public_html/ map.

Do you have SMF installed? If not, first you need to install that.

Once you install SMF, you can install SimplePortal via Admin > Package Manager.

No idea what you mean by "effects". Once you install the portal, your home page should be replace by SimplePortal and board index will be moved under ?action=forum action.
