Your forum's theme is not-quite compatable with the current version of SimplePortal.
This is because of changes in the Curve theme made late in SMF's developement cycle.
SMF 2.0 uses cat_bar, whereas simpleportal does not.
The next version of SimplePortal will fix this problem.

The solution is to change the template for the block headers. This is done in PortalTemplate.php.
Unfortunately, for the current version of Simpleportal, you will also have the same problem with boardnews and with individual articles -- and their templates are not in PortalTemplate.php, for some very pragmatic reasons.
That requires also editing PortalBlocks.php, to get boardnews "blocks" right.
