So we set up a page with an iframe for our Ajax Chat but for some reason when user is logged onto that page they can not post in the SP shout box at same time... any ideas or thoughts on this?
-
Most likely the Ajax chat disables the shoutbox due to conflict.
-
right.... has anyone got the know how to help me make needed changes to fix this
-
I probably won't be able to reply for a good while even if I asked for more information. So the best I could suggest at this time would be to check the JavaScript error console of your browser after you trigger the error. That should give you an idea about where the conflict might be.

"NetworkError: 403 Forbidden - Session timeout - http://www.pixelmansion.com/index.php?action=portal;sa=shoutbox;xml"
TypeError: XMLDoc.getElementsByTagName is not a function
[Break On This Error]
...var shouts = XMLDoc.getElementsByTagName("smf")[0].getElementsByTagName("shout")

If you are not using the simple portal shoutbox, there is no reason for a call to
http://www.pixelmansion.com/index.php?action=portal;sa=shoutbox;xml
Are you trying to use the Simple Portal shoutbox along with a different AJAX chat?
-
Yes i am using the SP shout for quick comments... and the ajax chat to open in an iframed SP page, at the same time.
-
Any chance I can see the page for myself? You can pm me the link and access if the page is not public.
-
I can confirm that this error is still appearing, had it yesterday on my forum. Any solution found?
-
I apologize for the very very delayed response. Like I said, I'll have to see it in action see what might be going wrong. If you still require assistance with this one, I'll need temporary access to your forum.
