SP requires login to show main portal or SMF forum
« on: April 01, 2010, 05:33:05 PM »
Hi,

I have just installed SMF 2.0 RC3 and SP 2.3.1.

SP requires to login in, otherwise you don't have access either to SP or the forum. Once you login everything looks at it should, but guests cannot access any part of the forum or the Portal until logged-in.

I've got local cookies disabled and enabled domain independent.

Right now I've set SP to work in "independent" mode, but the result is the same using other profiles.

These are my paths:

domain -> videoedicion.org
path to root URL -> /public_html/
path to SMF -> public_html/foro
path to PortalStandalone.php -> /public_html/index.php

Right now I've set all the blocks as "Ignore permissions" and "Show everywhere" (I'm using the Spanish version, so perhaps that's not the exact translation)

I want the main portal and the forum to be read by EVERYONE. Users should only login to post or access private areas.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Regards

Make sure that your Admin -> Configuration -> Features and Options -> "Allow guests to browse the forum" setting is enabled.

I just about to post my reply when you wrote seconds before me... :-)

There's a saying in Spanish that goes something like "It would have eaten me had it been a wolf" I'd insanely reviewed all the permissions settings and the key has turned out to be the simplest...

I don't know why, but the box "Allow guests to browse the forum" under Admin -> Configuration -> Features and Optionswas unticked. And that was the problem...

Sorry for having troubled those of you who read my post.

Thanks anyway.

Regards,
