Title: Shoutbox post come up as null

i have..had a shoutbox block made up. it seems to work but you have to refresh the whole page to see what I have typed or someone else. When i post something it says null. fresh the page and you can see what I typed. The refresh in the block doest work.

any thoughts?

Same problem for me.

you see nothing in firefox and you see "null" in IE

Any ideas?

ok I found the problem but I dont know the reason

SP shoutbox has "null" problem when this mod SA CHAT BAR (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2534)  is installed

When I had SMF 2.0 RC3 & SimplePortal 2.3.2 I had no problem but after upgrade to SMF 2.0 RC4 & SimplePortal 2.3.3 I am forced to remove SA CHAT BAR or not use shoutbox.


Any idea how i can make both work now?

Running two different AJAX shoutboxes on the same forum can be a problem.
 
My guess is that there is some kind of problem with the javascript the two mods use -- perhaps a javascript function gets redefined.  These kinds of things can be very difficult to track down.  Do you get any javascript errors in your browser when you see the SimplePortal shoutbox problem?
