SP 2.2.1 Reinstallation issues- Right Blocks not visiible
« on: May 26, 2009, 06:20:01 AM »
Hi all,

I have updated smf from 1.1.9 to 2.0 RC 1-1 yesterday. I uninstalled previous sp(2.2.1) before the forum upgrade and reinstalled it today on 2.0 RC 1-1.

But there are a lot issues that came up with this re installation.

1. There are no right side blocks, even though we set some, they don't appear

2. Recent Posts error message
Quote
Database error, given array of integer values is empty. (include_boards)

3. I used to have mgallery, which has been uninstalled during the forum upgrade, the images in the gallery still appear in the SP.

4. SP still behaves like the old install with all the html still there.

What has to be done now to make a SP look and behave like a complete new install.?

Kindly help. I cant imagine a forum without SP. Thank you

If you want to completely wipe your SimplePortal install clean then you can delete the '{smfprefix}sp_%' tables, and then run the 'install2.php' file. (You have to put it in the same directory as your SSI.php file and then open it with your browser.

SimplePortal retains your data by default, so that you can upgrade SMF versions without losing your SimplePortal configueration.

Otherwise, we can try to fix those issues:
1+2) Odd errors, can you please have a look at your forum error log, and post some more detailed error logs?
3) Its likely that your old mgallery data is still in your database, so the SimplePortal block for the gallery is showing that. Try removing the relevant SimplePortal block.
4) If you are refering to old HTML blocks then you can just delete them.

I am glad that you have responded. Thanks a lot. I am really not sure how to download the error logs but will try and paste them in a while.

I am afraid, if I can ask you to have a look at the forum with a temp admin account? If not I will have try trial and error method as I have started learning about all this only from past three days.

Thanks again,
pnreddy

Okay, issues 1+2 are both being caused by the database error, when the error is shown, php stops running, so the rest of the forum content is skipped.

Can you please post your 'SSI.php' and 'SPortal2.php' files as attachments, so that I can have a look at them?

With issue 3, I have disabled that block for now. You can just remove it if you no longer want to show your old gallery images. (Use the delete button next to that block while viewing the list of blocks)

With issue 4, you can delete or disable any old blocks that you don't want to show. (Use the 'Action' buttons on the block list page)

Okay, I had another look to make sure that all the issues are resolved. I'm not sure why there was an issue with the recent block as the files are fine, but its working now so thats good.

Glad I could help. :D

You can delete the temp account now. :)
