Hello all, sorry to be the annoying new guy but I broke my forum tonight trying to upgrade to 2.3.7. When deleting 2.3.6, I got the following message and can't get in to reload anything:
Warning: require_once(/home/content/78/8010078/html/simplemachinesforum/Sources/Subs-Portal.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/78/8010078/html/simplemachinesforum/index.php on line 57
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/home/content/78/8010078/html/simplemachinesforum/Sources/Subs-Portal.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5_4/lib/php') in /home/content/78/8010078/html/simplemachinesforum/index.php on line 57
I honestly don't know what to do next, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello there.
It would seem there are missing files in your installation. When you say "deleting 2.3.6" how did you go about it?
-
I used the uninstall option in my admin area of my forum, and then it went to that screen. I'm new at all of this so I assumed it would allow me to load the new version after uninstalling the old. I'm in the hosting site right now trying to refresh the backup version, but that's not going smooth either.
I inherited this site with no training and experience, so what I have figured out is self taught, so please forgive my ignorance in this subject matter.

Could you attach your /index.php file?

Here, try this out and see if your page is restored.

Sorry, I was away for a bit and back trying to get this thing fixed. No, the index.php didn't fix it but I had the hosting company do a restore back to before I messed it up. I appreciate your help for sure, I still have a lot to learn about this stuff!
Problem I'm having now is that the forum keeps switching between member log ins from screen to screen.

This sounds as though it may be an improper cookie or session setting.
Ensure those SMF server settings are correct.

I hate to keep bugging you guys, but I have no idea how to do that....

Go to: Admin -> Server Settings -> Cookies & Sessions
- enable subdomain independent cookies
- disable local cookies
- log out
- log back in

I do not speak english. But see if it helps.
-
Click on the box located beside independent subdomain cookies and save the settings on that page.
Log out of your forum and then log back into your forum.
Let me know if that fixes your not staying logged in issue.

No, this hasn't fixed it. I appreciate all of your help here but I think my problem is mostly related to my hosting company who "cleaned" malware out of my files and deleted a bunch. We are sifting through error logs to d=see whats broken and what we can do to fix it.
