Title: New install of SMF & SimplePortal - folder structure
Post by: gunpron on July 21, 2010, 10:53:02 PM
If I install SMF in a /forum folder, and then install SimplePortal, what do I need to do to ensure SimplePortal handles the index page for the domain root?  Is it better to install SMF + SP in the domain root instead of a folder?

If you wish to have SMF in /forum, you can use the "standalone" mode of SimplePortal to handle SimplePortal in the domain root.  You would take a copy of the standalone portal file, and make that your new /index.php file in the domain root.  Just follow the instructions inside, and make sure to choose standalone mode.
