Can you make sure that you see the SimplePortal package installed in the Admin > Packages area and you still don't have Admin > SimplePortal area?
-
Yes it's installed and the admin>simple portal area isn't there :( i've also tried using the core and curve theme but it still didn't show
-
Hmmm, what happens when you click on [Uninstall] for that package? Do you get *all* operations failed?
-
yes
-
Okay. Proceed with the uninstallation ignoring the errors. Then try installing the mod again.
-
Generally that happens when your server permissions are configured in such a way SMF is unable to determine the best route of writing files.
Do you have any errors in your Error Log dealing with "package cache flush" or similar? If that's the case your best solution is to either set up another FTP account for SMF to use, let it use your cpanel account, or contact your host.

lol not really sure how to check my error log kinda new the the whole file hosting thing
-
ok ya error is in the flush cache thingy

I can't say I'm very experienced with package manager related issues, since I didn't had the environment to reproduce common issues to investigate. The best I can suggest is trying installing it again. If that doesn't work it is better to seek support at simplemachines.org forums as it is beyond the scope of this mod, or install the mod manually.
