Blocks speak! Do you have an interest in getting more blocks - or even making your own? The Blocks Board is for you!

dark break theme strange occurance...
« on: October 19, 2009, 11:48:37 AM »
hi everybody...

i have been using simple portal to help build a website for some months now.

one of the themes used on a section of my site is behaving badly its dark break by dziner studios. for reasons unknown its displaying vertical toolbars on all blocks whether they need them or not.

I didnt have this problem with sp 2.2.2 it only has occured since i upgraded to 2.3 since which time i have upgraded to 2.3.1 and the situation still occurs.

i dont have this problem with any other themes and so although i know its something to do with the theme it must also be something that changed in 2.3. i am using smf 2.0 rc1.2

i dont want to disable scrollbars as a fix because my feed blocks need verticle bars.

i have added a screenshot so you can see what i mean.

if anybody can help it would be much appreciated as i can't not use this particular theme its essential.

Well, here is the hardcoded way to do it.

Copy your 'Themes/default/Portal.template.php' file to 'Themes/{themename}/Portal.template.php'.

Find this code:
Code: ("Themes/{themename}/Portal.template.php") [Select]
echo '
<div class="', ($block['type'] == 'sp_menu') ? '' : 'sp_block', !empty($block['style']['no_body']) ? '' : ' tborder', '">
<table class="sp_block">';

Replace with this code:
Code: [Select]
$block_ids = array(1, 2, 3);
echo '
<div class="', ($block['type'] == 'sp_menu' || !in_array($block['id'], $block_ids)) ? '' : 'sp_block', !empty($block['style']['no_body']) ? '' : ' tborder', '">
<table class="sp_block">';

The '1, 2, 3' list, is a list of block ids where scrollbars will still be shown. No scrollbars should be shown on any other block.
