I have Recent Topics Block & Recent Post Block both activated but after looking at them the New Topics Block is basically duplicating the Recent Posts Block
When someone makes a new post the recent Topic Block is displaying the user who posted in that topic and putting the post as a Recent Topic whereas it isnt a recent topic as in recently started but recently posted in, i would like a block that displays the X amount of new topics started on the forum rather than the most recently posted in topics as about 90% of Recent Topic & Recent Posts are exactly the same, which means it is sensible to only display the Recent Posts Blocks on the portal but I would like to be able to show the most, for e.g. 8, recently started Topics and who started them

I have checked the two functions I mean recent topics and recent posts in the ssi_examples.php and found out that both lists have the same dates and times which should not be , because the Topic starts first and the posts come after that so how could they have the same date and time ?? , I think smf developers should consider that

I guess you simply mean you want Recently Created Topics block, not Recently Update Topics. Is that right?
I may provide you the codes to do that. Are you using Site Recent Topics/Posts block or usual Recent Topics?
