Hi,
SimplePortal 2.3.5 is very nice portal I lake it.
But I can't installing I displays this error:
FTP Information Required
Some of the files the package manager needs to modify are not writable. This needs to be changed by logging into FTP and using it to chmod or create the files and folders. Your FTP information may be temporarily cached for proper operation of the package manager.
Any help me please :'(

First up you need a ftp program, or log into your server by a web control panel.
then you need to make sure that the following folders have their permissions set (how to do this varies from program to program or if you are using a web control panel)
From memory,
attachments folder
avatars folder
Packages folder
Packages/installed.list
Smileys folder
Themes folder
all need to be chmod'd to 777
-
I tried, but nothing.
-
ok, the folliwing files all need to be writable by sp
index.php
SSI.php
Sources Directory
Admin.php
BoardIndex.php
Display.php
Help.php
Load.php
ManagePermissions.php
ManageServer.php
QueryString.php
Recent.php
Subs.php
Subs-BoardIndex.php
Subs-Boards.php
Who.php
Default theme directory
Display.template.php
using your ftp make sure all of those are writable.
if that fails, make sure the themes folder is writable, the default theme folder, the scripts folder, the languages folder, and the css folder.
That is all the files and directorys that sp uses so if all those are write enabled theres no reason why it should get that error.

I don't know, but only this mod has problem
-
Well, this mod does work with SMF 2.0.2 and 3.
I think your other mods are causing trouble. You need to explain exactly what SMF version and SP version you have with other mods. And if any uninstalled etc.
Problems happen because mods are code changes - not plugins! Each mod changes the code so it can get tangled and mixed up like fishing line.
It is recommended you install minimum mods needed. Lots of mods= trouble. I try to stay under 20 -25 mods. And they are mostly simple ones.
Some mods can always make trouble like - spam control, pretty urls.
If you start with a clean SMF install, Simple portal will work fine. It is your choice about how/which mods you install.

From the error message it looks purely a permissions error.
Make sure all the directories I speficied are 777 and all the files I specified are writeable.
And one final possibility, look in your packages directory, and create a folder called temp with full 777 permissions.
If all those are as above, theres no reason why you should get a permission error.
When you go to install are you getting other errors at all in the list?

thank you a lot for you help, but I have installed it with manual mode.
-
I have installed it with manual mode but I can't understand this:
Code
install2.php
-
just put install2.php in the root of your server
then run it by putting in yourdomainnamehere/install2.php
its the install file that sets up the database.
then delete the install2.php file after you run it

ok thanx ;)
