diving in head first :)
« on: November 30, 2010, 08:10:19 AM »
ok here goes lol

first off i am creating a non profit website that will have an added var "region code".
the entire website and forums after the first page will stem off that var.
is:
        new user: newdude
        password: something140
region code: denver CO (this will be checked for everything)

each user that logs in from any dif city/region will essentially see a website devoted to thier particular region. if ppl wish to know more details on this, i got no probs going into it further.

i know this particular change, changes the base behavior of the forums software at a basic lvl.
and changing the very nature of how this software works will be a challenge, but very doable.

just to make sure yall dont think im taking credit for the software, smf and simple portals copyrite tags at the bottom of the page will always remain. but ofc i will add one for myself in there for the version of the software that i will write.

and the other thing that i am currently wanting to do is much simpler.

i play an online vid game called "Anarchy Online". and we have a new forums set up (latest smf/simportal).

              http://aoforums.futureone.us

if you go there you will see that there is a block that posts who is online in game. middle of the page.
im wanting to integrate that into the exsisting whos online box on the left of the page.

getting in there and figuring that out, will get me that much closer to getting "www.futureone.us" up and running for at first american communitys starting with my home town and then branching out and hopefully going worldwide. but cant go worldwide broke as a joke lol

so if someone can point me into the right direction toward adding that online page into the online block, that will educate me a lot toward my other goals.

thx a bunch in advance :)

bare in mind that www.futureone.us is a total work in progress and it should be in its current form disregarded.

another thing, im not new to programming or php/mysql for that matter. but it has been since 2004 since i did anything serious, was in school then. looking thru the sources files, i feel i forgot more than i learned, cause yall are world class code writers and i want to write code, not drive trucks for a living.

it really is a worthwhile cause, and ill appreciate any help that i get on this.
