On the portal page there is a - Pages: [1]. What's it there for? Can a page 2 be made for the portal? How?

Thx, +EV

All depends on how many articles you have...

Admin > Simple Portal > Article Settings >Maximum Articles Per Page

If for example, you have 6 articles, and you made the max "3", then you'd have "3" on page 1, and "3" on page 2. Follow?

Maybe this should not be shown if only one page? Sort of implies there are more...

Agreed. I'd prefer it not to be there if I only have one page. Is there an edit to remove it? Thx, +EV

Do you have a board news block?

If you have articles enabled and set maximum to 0 the Page [1] still appears. If you disable articles it disapperas.

The query I think is if articles enabled and there is only one page of articles, why show Page [1].

Shame I have to not use articles any longer just to get rid of Page [1] .... which shouldn't be there anyway. Would anyone care to let me know how to edit it out?

Thx

Okay, this is an issue which is now reported: http://simpleportal.net/index.php?issue=237.0

This isn't a bug as such, its just something you can't actually do. SP is setup to automatically assume that you want 5 articles per page, if you don't specify how many...

Here is a quick fix (for SP 2.2.2 and SMF 2 RC1.2):
Code: ("Find this code (/Themes/default/SPortal2.template.php)") [Select]
<div class="sp_page_index">', $txt['sp-articlesPages'], ': ', $context['page_index'], '</div>
</div>';

Code: ("Replace with this code") [Select]
', $modSettings['articleperpage'] != 5000 ? '<div class="sp_page_index">' . $txt['sp-articlesPages'] . ': ' . $context['page_index'] . '</div>' : '', '
</div>';

Code: ("Find this code (/Sources/SPortal2.php)") [Select]
$modSettings['articleperpage'] = !empty($modSettings['articleperpage']) ? (int) $modSettings['articleperpage'] : 5;
Code: ("Replace with this code") [Select]
$modSettings['articleperpage'] = !empty($modSettings['articleperpage']) ? (int) $modSettings['articleperpage'] : 5000;

PS: That is a bit of a hack, it will work fine, unless you add more than 5000 articles. ;)

I could not find either of those pages. I did upgrade to 2.3RC1. 2.3RC1 also has the Pages [1].

Those edits were specifically for SP 2.2.2, as I stated. You should not be using SP 2.3 RC1 on your main site, only for testing, as the public version had many bugs in it.

SP 2.3 public should have an option for this.

Marked as solved.
