I'm needing a way for a sticky topic to stay at the top of the portal on the front page.

Well, this same question has been asked numerous times. Try searching the forums...

What exactly are you trying to order with stickied topics at the top? Ie. Articles or blocks? If blocks, then which block type?

I need to keep one particular stickied topic at the top of the portal page.  It's pulled from a news thread.

So, I'm not trying to order the sticky topics, but I do need one to stay at the top of the portal.

I need to know if you are using Articles/Board News block/whatever you are using to show those topics. ;)

Find the code below in your 'PortalBlocks.php' file, in the sp_boardNews function.
Code: [Select]
ORDER BY t.id_first_msg DESC
Replace with this code:
Code: [Select]
ORDER BY t.is_sticky DESC, t.id_first_msg DESC

Did you empty your cache first?
Ms. Eliana TamerinIt should be painfully obvious by now that I don't respond to support PMs. Don't send me PMs for support. They will be ignored and deleted, post on the Support Boards to get support.

Not browser cache. SMF 2 makes use of caching to cut down on bandwidth costs. Admin > Maintenance > Routine has the option to empty the forum cache.

That edit does work, its just that the find code occurs twice within the PortalBlocks.php file, you have to change both occurances.
