I have smf rc3 installed and I tried to install the latest version of simple portal but I have this error

I had this error when I first tried to install it and decided to scrap the old forum and redo it, it was in need of it any way, so a new install of smf and it still fails when simple portal is installed.
I have no mods installed just the smf forum
Any ideas?

This can be due to permissions in some instances. have your host ensure you own all files and directories in your home directory.

What do you mean by "it fails"? Do you get the same error?
