Setting Front Page to go directly to forum?
« on: September 25, 2008, 09:22:20 PM »
Hey everyone - thanks for the great mod.  I'm checking it out as an alternative to TinyPortal.  I just installed 2.0.4 on a 1.1.6 forum and am wondering if I can turn the front page off, so that users go directly to the forum, eliminating the "Home" button ?

My apologies in advance if I'm just being dense and have overlooked a simple link or button.  Thanks very much.

Actually there is no option to do such at the moment. However that would make a great addition, as a matter of fact..

If you did that on the current version, you would negate the effects of the portal altogether.
Ms. Eliana TamerinIt should be painfully obvious by now that I don't respond to support PMs. Don't send me PMs for support. They will be ignored and deleted, post on the Support Boards to get support.

Yeah, I can turn the portal on, but if I don't enable any blocks then I have a "Home" and "forum" link that both go right to the forum.  With TP, you can still use blocks but just go straight to the forum w/out a "Home" page.  Some people like to go w/that setup.

That should be possible the with forum integration features that are going to be added to SimplePortal 2.1.

For now, I have marked this topic as solved. :D

I came here with this question too (turning off the portal but keeping the blocks). It looks like if you uncheck 'enable portal' the blocks do remain.

@Cholo,
Did you manage to get it to work? Is this issue solved?

@jak6868,
That is correct.
