I think this has to do with portal.css.
SMF made some changes to CURVE, which require some changes to portal.css.

So Themes/default/css/portal.css has some new stuff in SimplePortal 2.3.3

So here's what I would check:
Is that theme your default theme?
Does that theme have a copy of portal.css in its css directory?
Is it the NEWEST portal.css?

Maarten, the problem reported by truja is in Subs.php, not in the css files.
So I think they are different problems.

My guess is that trax has a problem with not having the correct portal.css in one theme.
OR ELSE MAYBE even having the old portal.css still loaded in the browser cache.
(I made a mistake to assume he checked that first).

Yeah I read your post. But I've both problems with my SMF. I can't repair it now, but I haven't apply it to my website yet... Only a test with a backup.. Because these mistakes happens.

In my opinion you should fix these errors with another SimplePortal version.

It is always a good idea to try out new stuff, including installs on a test instance of your forum.

I agree that the "#13" problem should be fixed, and I know that the developers will be keen to do that, as soon as their schedules permit.

I have not seen the CSS problem, so I would need to collect some information from you.

* Did you empty your browser cache to flush out the "old" css file?
* Do you see the css problem with all themes, or only some themes?
* Please check Themes/default/css/portal.css.  Is it the 2.3.3 version?
* Please check the css directories of your other themes.  Do you have portal.css files there? are they the 2.3.3 version?
* When you installed SimplePortal 2.3.3, what options did you select for the themes?

Thank you

It is now the default theme and that seems fine now i uploaded the portal.css so thanks. just one more question if i use a custom theme which i normaly do should the css directory of that theme also have the portal.css?

Other themes do not need their own copy of portal.css UNLESS you desire to customize portal.css for that theme.

--------------
Edit: I was dead wrong about that.  See Nathaniel's comment on changes in RC4 below.

If thats the case why don't any other themes look right then like in the attachment in first post, that theme is by crip and was updated yestarday for Rc4 but still dont look right?

You will need to install the 'Themes/{themename}/css/portal.css' file for each theme, due to a change in the that file to add compatibility with SMF 2 RC4.

I've got the same issue. Nathaniel, what do you mean by "install"? Can I not just copy this from the default theme's folder into the theme that I'm using?

Just copying will work fine.

When you do install a mod, you can choose options to modify all your themes by copying files and so forth.

Thanks for removing my reply? I suggested something and did that on a polite and thankfull way. I dont understand why you have removed it?
I also didn't receive any notice of that  :'(

Anyway for the others: manually i succeeded. Also i removed the old blocks and added them again as still window bg wasnt editable. After making a new block also that worked again.

Thanks for the help

Kind regards
Katrien

Your post was not removed, merely split from this topic because it was unrelated. It becomes very difficult to give support if you post every support request in the same topic. (a topic started by someone else as well...)

But i also mentioned my solved problem regarding the subject of this topic in that reply. ;)

Sorry for the above...didnt know it was splitted and i certanly don't want to  be a negative factor in your support.

Yep this solved the problem for me thanks ;D ;D ;D ;D

I had this issue for multiple sites, I have decided to remove SP permanently, it seems the beta testers didn't do their job.

Please don't hesitate to critisize me if I am wrong, I am one of those quick to judge people sadly but nonetheless, this is a big shame, I even the upgrade multiple times, thinking this was a SMF issue. Other portals were working perfectly, why wasn't SP?

@royalduke,
The solution for this issue has been provided (multiple times), I have also explained why this problem occurs in SP 2.3.3. (see this topic: http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=6885 )

As you normally need to install mods for custom themes, I don't see the major concern with copying a single file to each custom theme, especially as the SMF 2 package manager will do this for you when you install SimplePortal.

I have to agree with royalduke I have been waiting to up grade from SimplePortal 2.3.2 to SimplePortal 2.3.3because of the errors in the portal that i have worked on before and have spent days and days trying to work them out,I have solved 99% of them,But now the new version of SP has its issues,so far i have spent over 8 hours working on the same issues this Gentlemen has http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=6878.msg41029;topicseen#new  I have gone through every step that has been posted in the SP forum section and nothing fixed, Seems to ME more beta testing needs to be done before these updates are released.
Sure sucks i really wanted to upgrade SMF to the latest release along SP,I think i will wait till the next release.

I AM just a noob at this, but I have produced a beautiful set of forums, and I am very particular in its functions and setups for the viewers,at the same time I am not perfect and far from the brightest chip on the block.

The solutions posted here will work for the default theme. The changes in portal.css from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 were designed to deal with changes in CURVE between RC3 and RC4.

If you are using a custom theme that has not changed from RC3 to RC4 as CURVE has done, maybe the simpleportal 2.3.2 version of portal.css, in your custom theme's css directory, would work better for you.

Or, if your theme is very customized, you may desire to customize SimplePortal's templates in your custom theme's directory.
