Oddly I can not find how one installs the blocks, did a few searches and found nothing on it.
So asking here.
I see the scripts in the block area, but how does one install these ?
Thanks

You don't need to install blocks, they should be already there. ;-)
Have a look in your Admin-Section. You will find the blocks there under "Simple Portal".
If you go to "blocks" you will see a list of blocks and something like "add blocks". There it is, where you can create your own blocks, for example php-Blocks.

USFA -- did that answer your question?
If not, please explain more.
Do you want to use the blocks that come with SimplePortal? If so, then Schnuffeltier is correct -- find "blocks" and look at your list of blocks.
Use "add blocks" to add more blocks. And disable or delete blocks you do not want any longer.
If you want to use some of the custom blocks that are discussed here, please say so, and we can help you through how to get started with that.
Thanks!

FRom my understanding to create a block that is custom or not on the list
simply use the php one. scary how easy SP is to use.
Thank you

Adding a Block
While viewing the Blocks List, click ADD BLOCK to choose from a number of pre-defined blocks types.
Simply select one of the block types and click the SELECT BLOCK TYPE button at the bottom of the list to start the block editor.

Advanced Search (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Search#Advanced_Search) via SMF wiki
Although the advanced search screen might initially seem a little intimidating if a forum has many boards and child boards, it is surprisingly straightforward when reduced to its basic components.
