Title: Adding Buttons in the main menu? Is it really this difficult?
Post by: audiophoenix on March 15, 2015, 11:14:00 AM
This may sound really stupid and it's probably more simple than I am thinking but I have been trying to figure this out for weeks now. I can't understand how there's not a mod for this that works correctly.

I have some simpleportal pages that I created. I need a button in the menu that will link to the page AND will show up as active. I understand adding the code in the subs.php to get the button to show up, but it's not showing as active and when I ask on SMF they tell me that because I'm using SimplePortal to ask here because the pages are linked differently or something. I really am getting frustrated because this seems to be anything but simple. I hope someone can help me out.

Welcome to SimplePortal :)
It's not really SP related issue, but since you wrote here already..

There are few mods for SMF that will allow you to add new buttons in menu without manual edits if files: Menu Editor Lite (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3310) and Ultimate Menu (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3674).

Also author of Menu Editor Lite released Pro version which has more features.

audiophoenix, have the suggestions worked for you? Do you require further assistance with this issue?
