OK im new to this and not sure if this is the right forum for my question

But i was wondering if it was possible to setup the shoutbox to allow guess to be able to post?

It's possible but not recommended because of spam.

Having the shoutbox permissions change who can make a shout would make more sense than opposed to who can view it. While having guests make shouts is fairly pointless (and spammy), there are uses for having shout/view permissions separate.

It would require a few rewrites of how the permissions are handled. Perhaps feature request it?

well if there is no simple way of doing so i guess i could make a require, since the site im setting up doesnt currently let users register but i still want to get user feedback/request in shoutbox
