Title: Requesting Forum Permission
Post by: smo on November 03, 2008, 03:32:50 PM
Hello - I have 2 sections of my forums that i am testing that i would like for members to be able to "request access to"

I used to use phpbb and they had a simple way of doing it via the profile, or via a link on the forum to "request access" that would generate an email to me saying someone has requested access.

Is there a way to mirror this in SMF? I would rather not manually add users to the right groups!

Any help is greatly appreciated! love the software so far :)

This really doesn't seem to be an issue or question regarding Simple Portal.

However regardless, SMF 2.0 has the feature to "request access" to membergroups through the Profile CP. Perhaps upgrading will yield the results you ask for?
