Title: Missing admin controls and lots of undefined index errors.
Post by: worm82075 on February 28, 2010, 09:30:09 PM
Installed 2.3 a few days ago on 1.1.9. The only problem i was having with that was the Poll block appearing only to guests and admin. It showed a database error for all other members.

I attempted to rectify the problem by applying the 2.3.1 update but once updated the admin controls do not appear and the error log is showing a ton of "8: Undefined index:" errors in the following files:

Subs
Subs-Portal
PostEnglish
PortalBlocks
SSI

to name a few.

As your board requires I updated my site to 1.1.11 before posting here and no change.

Edit: I am apparently getting a database error as well. These are some of the errors I'm getting:

Code: [Select]
Database Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')
AND bp.ID_BOARD = IF(b.permission_mode = 1, b.ID_BOARD, 0)
AND bp.ID_GRO' at line 4

Are you still having this issue? Make sure your language files are up-to-date. If you have SPortal*.{language}.php files in your Themes/{your_theme}/languages directory, try removing them.

It was indeed the language files. I had been having server/software issues previously with packages altering files fine but only creating 0kb files(I still can't backup my smf db) but anyway i counter this by installing the files manually through ftp. Obviously i missed those so it's human error on my part.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
