hello there
i keep recieveing this error when trying to install the package
An Error Has Occurred!
You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!
i have cmhoded the whole forum in aid of getting this to work but it still insists that it cant be installed
i know it works as we hae it on our fifa forum and it works fine
any help would be gr8 :D

Do you have a temp folder in /Packages? If not, create one and CHMOD it to 0777 as well.

I had the same problem initially when I tried to install it and the fix offered by ccbtimewiz did the trick!!

Sounds weird, I've the same problem but with SMF 2.0 RC3

It worked.. I got: Installation was a success (something like that)
But, doesn't appear to change anything...
Lol, help (When try to uninstall, it says at every file FAIL, but I think it didn't change anything??)
Sorry, I think this is a problem cuz by SMF it self.... All errors (1463) | General (1463)
Things like:
2: fopen(/home/****/domains/****/public_html/Themes/default/css/portal.css) [<a href='function.fopen'>function.fopen</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory
Apply Filter: Only show the errors from this file
File: /home/****/domains/****/public_html/Sources/Subs-Package.php

I've CHMODDED every file that needs to be CHMODDED...[/s]
Hey, I'm so happy XD It's working.. Changing the FTP settings, but it didn't changing the CHMOD...
