Hi

I edited the copyright Now it only says Simpleportal and liks back here

$fix = str_replace('{version}', $sportal_version, '<a href="http://www.simpleportal.net/" target="_blank" class="new_win">SimplePortal {version} &copy; 2008-2012, SimplePortal</a>');

Thats the part i removed from the copyright (the one thats been stroked through).

So What i really wanted to ask was that is it fine?

And i know that for sure that i am can remove copyright for smf. All i want in my footer is that it Says SimplePortal, SimpleMachineForums, Drab Blue  and links them back to their sites thats all.

can someone tell me where is the original smf copyright located? everytime i edit Subs.php it removes the whole copyright.

btw: plz dont come at me like i really did a bad thing i am asking for advice if its illegal i will put the whole copyright back.

Randomking,

  Perhaps this older thread will provide some incite: http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=5811.0
Imo respect the author(s) hard work & do not remove or edit SimplePortal's copyright.

As I said in that topic: altering the SP copyright in any way, shape, or form is violating the license.

You need permission from the copyright holder/share holder/product manager to legally modify it.
