Hi, wonder if someone can help me.
Using SMF rc2.3; SimplePortal 2.3.2
Clueless when it comes to coding!

I use Recent Image attachments on one of my blocks. The way I understand it is that it retrieves images posted on any of the Forum boards.   Is there any way of excluding one particular board. Eg... I have a jokes Board, but I don't want the images posted in that board displayed in the Recent Image attachments block.

Can someone help me please!

No standard setting for that in the block I think.

One way perhaps is the permissions... if the board  denies access say to guests then it shouldn't show those images when users not logged in. Not very useful perhaps.

There are custom display options which might be manipulated to display from certain boards... need one of the more experienced support staff to answer.

And 1 other solution is editing the block code and using it in a custom block - probably the easiest way to do it. But nobody replying here at the moment - I know a few of the coders are really busy right now.

Was hoping their would be a way of changing code somewhere to block certain Boards from being read for recent images...

I hope you do not mind that I reverted your thread to not being solved (as stated above) and also moved it to the appropriate board.

Your request requires some logic to be added to an sql query within the block code.
Is this request for SP's default Recent Image Attachments block or is this for a custom php block that you are using?

Also note that the query will use the board id's as reference. Therefore I will need to know what board id's you wish to ignore.

You'll have to acquire your appropriate board & topic id's to make settings in the Image Attachments block edit template. Let me know if that is satisfactory.

No problem at all.
My advise is to update SMF (if it is outdated) and all your applications for it including SimplePortal.
Most apps do not omit database info unless asked/stated during the uninstall process.

However if you are updating SMF itself with the upgrade package, manual edits to your existing SMF files will be omitted.
If it is only SimplePortal that is being updated, you may need to manually parse edits if you see errors during the uninstall process.
