Error in custom pages [www]
« on: September 06, 2009, 12:50:46 PM »
Well while checking out the new great features of SimplePortal 2.3 including the custom pages, I noticed theres an error when using the www in the URL.

I created a page for projects at my forum:

If you try it, it will simply not work and give you an Error, now if you try it this way:

It goes great, but the thing is that many people do use the www in URL's

Well with IE 8 it doesnt works in none of the two ways it just keeps giving error.

Hope this can be fixed caese SimplePortal is a great and powerfull tool.

From viewing it as a guest I get the 'The page you requested cannot be found.' error for both urls.

Could you please create a test account? (if there are restrictive permissions for those pages).

Try with tester.. password: test123

I already checked once again and well for a guest both ways give an error as you just said.

But the page itself has rights for all groups including guests, I just confirmed that.

I cannot access that page from either location when logged in or as a guest.

Although, note that when you try to view the page with the 'www' you are not logged in. You should be able to fix that particular issue, by enabling the 'Use subdomain independent cookies' option.

Can you access those pages using that test account?

Just tried again using guest and test account.. even with by enabling the independent cookies per domain.

I think its an internal issue from SP.. I will check in localhost.

Make sure the page is enabled and then check all the permissions again.

Having www or not shouldn't matter as it's the forum that controls this and either way you can see the forum.

Anyway, just a couple thoughts I had on it.
