Title: Another forum button help request.
Post by: AdrianH on January 04, 2011, 01:27:33 PM
Theme Mavice By Fussilet   SMF 1.1.12

Portal installed and works fine, the button appears in the core theme but not Mavice.

Have tried editing the code as per the tutorial but SMF rejected it.

Have attached the index template and display template  and would be grateful for any help on getting the button working, thank you. :D

The nice thing about SMF is it tells you something about what's wrong with a template file when you make a mistake.
Once you know what line your problem is on, it is easier to fix it.
If you don't already have one, you can download a free editor that shows line numbers.  Many people like notepad++, and there are many others.

I took a look at your index.template.php, but I could not see the forum button you created.

I know that you can follow the instructions, and then find the mistakes you made following the instructions.
If you try doing it one step at a time, you can catch your syntax errors very quickly.
It just takes a little bit of work.
You do have a test forum to work in, right?
