Hey and first off thanks for all the time making this awesome addition to smf providing the absolute best cms addition I've seen!
I however have a new problem. I've installed this many times on other's systems, however I run without an ftp server relying on ssh only as I deal with a lot of undesirables on my net. I would just like to know what files need to be chmod'ed to allow this to be installed as I can do this easily.
Thanks for your help!

And I'm running the latest versions of both,
SMF: 1.1.8
SP: 2.1.1

??? did you try uploading sp thru the package manager?
im a little lost on this one.. there hasnt been any unknown ftp hack attacks in a very long time, even with smf. so if you want, go grab filezilla and read the smf docs to help with the chmoding :nervous-happy:

The easiest thing to do is to temporarily chmod your 'sources' and 'themes' directories during the installation. You will also need to chmod your main 'index.php' file, as well as the package directory (so that you can upload the mod).
For a more specific list of the files that SimplePortal edits, you can use the 'Manual Install Instructions for SMF' function on the SM.org mod download page (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1104).
-
Also be advised (common mistake) to not chmod 777 everything you can, this will lead to major security risk.
