Topic: error 500: Internal server error occured after uninstalling sp2.2.2

Hi,

I have just  removed sp2.2.2 prior to upgrading it to 2.3 via the package manager and even though all the tests reported as passed ok, sadly it has caused a problem with my forum, I now get the error mentioned in the subject, any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Were there any uninstall errors listed by SMF? If so, then please attach the files where the errors were.

Hi Nathaniel, thanks for replying

No there were no uninstall errors reported at all everything said test successful one file was skipped and that was an english language file

update After some investigation I have been able to sort out the error 500 issue and managed to remove sp2.2.2 it would seem that for some reason it did not re-modify the index.php and /Sources/admin.php files, so by manually commenting out the 2 lines in index.php and the one line in /Sources/admin.php that refer to sp2.2.2, I was able to get the forum functionality back, out of interests sake I reinstalled sp 2.2.2 and this immediately reproduced the error 500 problem so by repeating the above steps I was able to solve it again, however, I am sure that I have not covered everything so am unsure whether to install sp2.3 until I can be sure that all of the sp2.2.2 files are gone what do you think?

If you want to be sure, then post the files below, so that I can check over them.
sources/Admin.php
sources/Subs.php
index.php

You should remove all traces of 2.2.2 from those files, before installing SP 2.3.

Aas it happens I ended up doing a full manual uninstall by sort of following the manual installation in reverse if you know what I mean but just to be safe here are the files

Your Admin.php and Subs.php files were fine. Although there were two edits from the index.php file that were still there, I have removed them in the attached file.
