It's actually several thousands of SMF installations! :D

That might actually be true, as we got over 25k downloads for 2.3.3 version.

Several times I had to get the same word translation copied and input when it had previously been done or was already in there from a previous persons entry.
Its time consuming for me typing each one if I have to keep switch the keyboard between languages- much faster copying a translated item.

Unfortunately, this current mod was my just experimental simple tool. It lacks a lot of features that could have helped a lot. Someday I'll hopefully re-code it and maybe then I can consider those other suggestions.

--- Quote from: igirisjin on March 26, 2012, 09:47:43 AM ---Also, sometimes there are a variety of tranlations and maybe best to see whats already in there rather than introduce different tranlslations.
In Japanese there are no translations for some things like 'shoutbox'. I was going to use katakana  but someone had already used a different translation so I stuck with that for uniformity.
Moderator is also a difficult one as Japanese often has completely different words for noun and verb. Its impossible to make it like English - moderate, moderator. Ive seen that even Japanese people have avoided translating this on SMF ...

I understand the difficulties of translating into Japanese. Try doing your best though. It's better than nothing.
