Quick Custom PHP block help :)
« on: September 16, 2009, 12:04:50 PM »
Ok, so many moons ago I used to know html and javascript fairly well, now I know nothing!

My Goal:

Grabs user ID from whoever is logged in and places @ [USER ID]
I figure I couldn't do this in a HTML block. So I want this in a php block if possible :/
Code: [Select]
<iframe src="http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/xxxx.163877350231&uid=[USER ID]" frameborder="0" width="612" height="2100" scrolling="no"></iframe>
I know I'm being lazy, but any chance someone could throw together this block code for me ?

Thanks

Pantho

Try the code below, for a PHP type block.

Code: [Select]
global $user_info;
echo '<iframe src="http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/xxxx.163877350231&uid=', $user_info['id'], '" frameborder="0" width="612" height="2100" scrolling="no"></iframe>';

Better to do through $context than $user_info, as said in the SMF Guidelines.

Code: [Select]
global $context;
echo '<iframe src="http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/xxxx.163877350231&uid=', $context['user']['id'], '" frameborder="0" width="612" height="2100" scrolling="no"></iframe>';

Thanks :)

I ended up reading source of some other blocks and used user_info['username']

-edit

Ill ask a question here, as I'm going to bed I might awaken to a nice surprise

I don't want to use the smf1_members field.

Anyway:

I want to make an if statment to simply check for a value in a mysql table, if it doesn't exist add the value.

earch table: cashuser1 in colunm: uid for value $user_info['username']
If it does not exist, create $user_info['username']

Anyone feel like offering some advice? Been up all day relearning html and then learning php while dealing with idiots on IM. I know how to insert data from a variable and into the database, and vis versa. So I could probably do this with lots of trial and error when I awaken, buy any help would be loved.

Rambling from Pantho

Gnight -
