Title: Custom theme with SP standalone homepage
Post by: FGC Fusion on December 20, 2009, 08:19:09 AM
I will shortly be updating my SMF version to SMF 2.0 RC2 from ver SMF  1.1.11 and hoping to use this theme
http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=1933
and others by the same author as options for the members to use ....so what will i likely have to do to get them to appear on the standalone page of SP or will they work as does the default theme at present with SMF 1.1.11....trying to get an understanding so as minimise site downtime before we do the upgrade....thanks

Oh on a seperate note when i upgrade the SMF should i unstall SP first or will it automaticaly work (does that make sense)just dont want to lose the data i have on me standalone when we upgrade....

Cheers Fusion.

There shouldn't be any issues with the theme, users should be able to pick the theme that they want and it should show on the standalone portal.

I would recommend that you uninstall SimplePortal before making the upgrade to SMF. You will need to install it anyway, so that you can reinstall it later, its easier to uninstall it before you make the upgrade rather than afterwards. You will lose no data, the SP 2.3.1 install process for SMF2 will upgrade your old SMF1.1 data for SMF 2 and SP 2.3.1.
