Bottom Block & Integration = Download
« on: April 03, 2009, 04:42:41 AM »
Greetings!

SMF: 2.0rc1
(no mods)
SP: 2.2
(no edits, basic installation)

I use the default installation, so all view/show/position settings of the blocks are still on the predefinied positions.

Description:
I switched the Portal Mode from Front Page to Integration
Then I changed the block setting of the Recent Topics Block to All Pages.

After that the Home button chauses my FF3 to start downloading the index.php

Topic is solved.

Is is just the home button leads to an index.php download? If you browser is trying to download php files, that means your server cannot parse PHP files.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

Thanks for your time!

It seem that every button causes a download of index.php - except the admin button.

This happens also, if I type the address into the browser address bar directly.

If setting is “Forum” or “All Action”, download is started.
I setting is “All boards” I can use the navigation bar …
…but I can’t use links to boards. Links to a thread or a category is working.

Have made *any* changes to SimplePortal source files? Can you try replacing SPortal2.php file with an original one from the package?
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

Strange – but solved.

Replacing of SPortal2.php didn’t solve the problem, so I have replaced all SMF files with fresh downloaded “originals” and reinstalled SP (from the Packages folder).
After that the error is gone.

Because I have used the SP files from the first upload, I can say, that your files haven’t caused the error.
Now I wonder what happens to the fresh installation of SMF I run this morning.
If I have some free time, I will compare the files.

Anyway. The SP files are working as expected and I have marked this topic as solved.
Now I have to figure out how to set up a real top block which spanned over the hole board and I’m ready to change Portals.

Thanks for your time again and sorry for this (at the end) needless thread. Feel free to delete this thread.
