Title: Re: new simple portal install with SMF 2.0 RC1
Post by: Pete838 on February 12, 2009, 08:38:54 PM
I have gotten the same error messages as OP, but it will not install anyway. Instead I get a new error message:

Table 'estwing_estwing.sp_articles' doesn't exist
File: /home/estwing/public_html/forum/Packages/temp/install2.php
Line: 50

I really like Simple Portal, but I can't get it to work with RC-1. Instead I'm stuck with EZ-Portal until I can figure this thing out.

Use phpMyadmin to check out your database. If you had before SimplePortal, you also have in database 4 tables: estwing_estwing.sp_articles, estwing_estwing.sp_blocks, estwing_estwing.sp_functions, estwing_estwing.sp_categories, anyway, this tables has SP in the name.
To keep you previous SP settings, export all 4 tables, the delete (drop) them from database, install Simple Portal, ignore the css error, the go again to phpMyadmin and import previously exported tables.
I hope this works for you too.

Split from that other topic. Please post your own support requests, it makes it easier for the team to know who really needs support.

This is an issue with SMF 2 RC1, if you have just upgraded from another SMF 2 version then you should be able to restore backups of the four 'sp_' tables. As a3des explained.
