Title: Unable to load the 'Portal' template.
Post by: OldTimePker on July 08, 2011, 10:01:29 PM
Right,

Long story short deleted my default folder in themes so I used my back up which was before the SP download.

I un-installed it and re-installed it using the debug feature.

Someone help?  :'(

SMF: 2.0

EDIT: I fixed it, the images aren't showing up and it's not installed. Here's my error.

Are you using any modifications besides Simple Portal?

If not, un-install SP, download a clean version of SMF 2.0 and replace the files that the test failed with the clean ones. After that try to install and see if there are any errors.

I see you have learned that the Portal is not a template.
You are using the package manager to install it, since it is a modification package.
You have two options
1) Uninstall the other mods (in reverse order to how you installed them), then install SimplePortal. Then install the other mods again (will likely cause you additional installation headaches, because some of these will fail).  The reason for failure is that the mod's installer looks for the right place in the file to put its code, but cannot find it, because some other mod has already changed that part of the file...
2) Manual install -- you run the install "ignore errors" and then manually make the changes to the files that fail the test.  Please see http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=docs;area=solving_install_problems (http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=docs;area=solving_install_problems) for more on this.

And remember to set yourself up a "test" forum to do all your testing.  Don't do it to your "real" forum until you've figured out all the details.

Good Luck!
