Hi,
I recently upgraded to SMF2 and installed a fresh version of SP. The problem I'm having is that the title bars of the blocks is not picking up the theme of the forum. I've set SP to use the default forum theme in the 'general settings' section, but it's just not using the right titles.
If you look on this page (http://www.macksites.co.uk/GameBank/index.php?action=forum), you'll see on the left what it should look like, and on the right what it looks like right now.
Have I missed something obvious?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

That's an easy fix!
What you need to do is copy the file 'portal.css' from /Themes/default/css to /Themes/current_theme/css and voila you'll find that everything will be fine!
-
Well, I coped 'portal.css' from /Themes/default/css to the css folder in the theme I'm using (called SilverSin) and all it did was remove the blue image you see on the right blocks .. it didn't put in the bars that are part of the main theme. In fact it showed nothing at all there :'(

The block images are still there, so if you installed the portal.css file to your other theme's css area, then the images wouldnt be there ......
How is your "style options" set up as ? and what does it look like in smf default theme ?

I moved it back out when I saw it hadn't corrected the problem so that if an SP person saw this thread they could see my problem clearly. Leaving the portal.css file where it was resulted in absolutely no bars at all, with only the background colour showing through - as I mentioned.

When I use the default theme the problem isn't there - it uses the theme bars for both the forum titles and the blocks, not just one of them. As for my style options .. you might need to be more specific.
*EDIT*
Just noticed the same occurs with all other themes, other than those supplied as stock :O

One other thing I noticed .. even when I add a brand new block the problem is still there. Not much maybe, but might help pinpoint what the problem is.

When you go to modify a block ... scroll down and you will have a section at the bottom called style options
also , i tried to get on your site but it told me that i needed to pick an avatar ... There is no option to pick an avatar on registration.... so i couldnt register

Default title class = catbg
Default body class = windowbg
That's it.
I've tried all combinations of the options in the drop-down menu with no luck. Not entered any details into the text boxes as I simply wouldn't know where to start.

Weird, it was working yesterday .. just reinstalled the mod, thanks for mentioning it.

Just for giggles, install a different theme to your site ( not by the same maker of your current theme )..... dont make the theme the default theme or anything, just to see if the new theme has the same problem. I would really like to know the answer to this problem.
-
Already tried it as I mentioned earlier .. with no luck ..

I'd love an answer too .. I'm totally stuck and don't want to really have to use another portal system when I like SP so much.
-
Well I'm still stuck .. having now removed all data (including dropping tables) from my site, and completely reinstalling from fresh the problem is still there. I have no idea what to do next.
The only option I have is to look around for another portal mod, which I really don't want to do as I've been using SP for ages .. dunno what else I can do.
-
Nevermind .. I've reluctantly replaced SP altogether now with another portal solution.
-
Just incase someone else is having a similar trouble .. Here is another one that may help.

Since the original poster solved the problem by uninstalled SimplePortal, I'm going to mark this one as "solved". Usually, we can work around this problem with some work on portal.css (it depends on whether the theme is CURVE based or another type of custom theme)
